Meet Dr. John Davis
More than 30 years caring for growing smiles
Dr. Davis brings over three decades of experience as a pediatric dental specialist. He earned his DDS at VCU School of Dentistry and completed his pediatric dental residency there, serving as chief resident. He also previously taught as an assistant clinical professor of pediatric dentistry at VCU.
For parents, that means a dentist with a career focused on children’s dental needs—and experience helping families explore care options when a child needs additional support.

When should my child have their first dental visit?
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a visit when the first tooth appears, and no later than the first birthday. Call our team to discuss your child’s first appointment.
What ages do you see?
We provide pediatric dental care for children through age 15. If you’re arranging an infant’s first visit or care for an older teen, call us to confirm the right appointment.
How often should my child have a checkup?
Many children benefit from a checkup every six months. Your dentist may recommend a different schedule based on your child’s oral health and risk of cavities.
What if my child feels nervous about the dentist?
Let us know before the visit. We can discuss their concerns, explain care in a child-friendly way, and assess whether additional support or sedation may be appropriate.
Do you care for children with special healthcare needs?
Yes. Our team offers individualized care for children with physical, developmental, behavioral, and sensory needs. Contact us to discuss how we can prepare for your child’s visit.
Do baby teeth really need cavity treatment?
Baby teeth help with eating, speech, and space for permanent teeth. A cavity can cause pain or infection even if the tooth will eventually fall out. We’ll explain whether treatment is recommended.

Our practice accepts most dental insurance plans and is a provider for Virginia Medicaid for Children. Please contact us to confirm participation with your specific plan and benefits before treatment.
